Carla Bluhm, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Psychology. She received her M.A., M.Ed. and PhD from Columbia University and began at the College of Coastal Georgia in 2009. Dr. Bluhm is a co-founder of the Psychology BS degree, founder of the Psychology club and its associated speaker series "Shrimp Boat Sessions". She was awarded Professor of the Year in 2012 and a 2013 Excellence in Service-Learning Award. Her work on identity and face transplantation has been featured on BBC World Television, the American Psychological Association Monitor, The Washington Post, The Verge, and other national and international media. She is the co-author of Someone Else´s Face in the Mirror: Identity and the New Science of Face Transplantation by Praeger Press. <
Mark Davis, Ph.D., received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA, and his Master’s in Experimental Psychology and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. He is an Associate Professor of Psychology and the Department Chair of Behavioral Sciences at the University of West Alabama. His research interests are in intergroup relations, threat, emotions, and psychophysiology.<
Cláudia Alves is currently a doctoral student in Social Sciences (Psychology of Emotion) under the supervision of Prof. Freitas-Magalhães at the University Fernando Pessoa and the Facial Emotion Expression Lab (FEELab) and Prof. Carla Bluhm from the College of Coastal Georgia. She earned her undergraduate degree and master course in Clinical Psychology and Health at University Fernando Pessoa. She is also a postgraduate in Facial Expression of Emotion. Her interests encompass facial expressions of emotion regarding psychopaths and other psychological disorders, and the effects of facial transplantation in human behavior which is the main goal of her doctoral research.<
Ana Coelho-Moreira is a criminologist and graduate from the University of Porto and postgraduate in Facial Expression of Emotion. She is currently a doctoral student in Social Sciences (Psychology of Emotion) under the supervision of Prof. Freitas-Magalhães at the University Fernando Pessoa and researcher of the Facial Emotion Expression Lab (FEELab). Her interests encompass crime phenomenon, facial expressions of emotion regarding psychopaths, lie detection in interrogations, and confessions in light of criminal law - the main goal of her doctoral research.<
